Perhaps its more villainous than that - maybe its a tool for clubbing foxes, and hence a fox-bat...but then again I am a super weapon so you might want to take my ideas with a grain of salt. But even I think that such a thing would be an abomination, so it might be spot on for him.

Clearly you do not know about Foxbat.
Foxbat, in Champions, is a more-than-slightly looney 'supervillain' -- a rich boy who saw all the superheroics and such going down, who did basically nothing but read comic books all day, and who decided he'd be the world's greatest supervillain. Which maybe he could be, if he could keep his attention on one thing at a time. In short, he's a parody of supervillains; a buffoon. A spoof of Batman. And, really, mostly annoying. He wants to be YOUR sidekick -- or even worse, has decided that you are going to be his.
I mean, my god -- his primary weapon is a ping-pong-ball gun...

It is a classic.
I see there is going to be some Champions Loremasters teaching the chela about the old ways.

Zod is heading the right direction, certainly, but Foxbat is much cooler/smarter/powerfuller than that second-rate would-be conquerer. I mean, he's a general from a planet of isolationist pacifists. Wimp! Send some ping pong balls his way and see how long he lasts.
Now, I think an image of a superguy wearing a mask with big pointy ear-like things that resemble a fox, or a bat, or some combination thereof - that would be great and powerful and majestic. Oh, wait, he already has that. That Foxbat, always one step ahead of us mere mortals.

But of course! I have here in front of me at this very moment the first appearance of our Great Lord Foxbat, in Enemies II. He has an OAF - Ping Pong Ball Gun, which includes his fully variety of enhanced ping pong weaponry: an Entangle (sticky balls), a Physical Energy Blast (hard balls), a Physical Killing Attack (sharp balls), a No-Normal-Defense Attack (gassy balls) and a Darkness (smoky balls). Attacks from the text, descriptions from me.
The best part is he has a RKA and a Code Against Killing. I guess he only uses the RKA on non-living things.

Describing Foxbat as "slightly insane" is like saying "the moon is kind of heavy". ;)
In the RPG, he is completely, utterly daffy - and the bane of brooding stalkers of the night.

This guy (Foxbat) is one of my favorite Champions villains. Has been ever since I got to sit down with the author of the "Foxbat for President" module (He runs games at my FLGS) and talk with him about the nut. He's INSANE, and it's a good thing...

Yes he did and they hurt alot....
As a matter of fact my DM made Foxbat my Arch Enemy.... It was pretty sad, i always beat him but he always got away...
As a matter of fact one of his 'master plans' was to have my grandmother bake him a pie...
