How did your name originate?
What I mean by this is, how did people start calling you what you are now.
Take for example "Cyclo" I got this from a game that I still play to this day City of Heroes, and one of my first names in the game was Cyclopolis.
Everyone ended up calling me Cyclo and it evolved to me making clever names like "ReCyclo".

Like I said im from City of Heroes and i've been playing it since i2. :D

What Guild/Supergroup did you mostly hang out with?

I was in many but currently i'm in "Rematch Plz?" with tons of friends.

[Sprawler]

Sprawler is the name of my main CoH character, my only lvl 50, and the character I created on my second day of playing the game, about 4 years ago. I don't remember what I was thinking when I named him, I was going through a list of verb-nouns like "Avenger", "Destroyer", blah blah, trying to find one that wasn't taken, and I must have run out so much that I ended up with "Sprawler" which is, itself, not exactly EXCITING ;P

But hotdamn, I grew to love mah name. It felt mysterious, sneaky all that jazz.

I do remember that when I created him, he was designed to be a template for a villain, as this was a few months before CoV was released, hence his "anti-hero" appearance. However, when I played CoV and was sorely disappointed by how soft it was, I kept playing Sprawler, and, unlike any character I've played before, gave him a backstory.

I remember that before creating Sprawler, on WoW, I often tried to name my characters something fitting for the character, and not a random thing like "Hordekiller" or "Ultimatepally". I suppose this was my first real nudge towards RP, in giving my characters proper names. Admittedly, my Gnome was called "Mightytinker", but I was young ;P

Sprawler is a DM/DA scrapper, so in Champions, I plan on mixing in some dark blast powers with maybe might, or martial arts if they have one based more on fists than kicks. Sprawler doesn't kick people XD

So that's my main's origin, he's also the character in my avatar, btw, so there he is.

Uh, long story. Boils down to taking a leaf out of the Tsoo's (ingame gang in CoX) book after I decided to rename my main, "Crazy" because he was a borderline maniac in a fight and "Dragon"... well *shrugs* he hit people with two sharp pointy swords.

CoX. Still playing, and thankful that a lot of the morons there left to be honest.

What Guild/Supergroup did you mostly hang out with?
What's a supergroup, where is it and can I see it? I kid, I kid. Can't say I'm "hanging" with any at the moment. At least until I can be bothered to sort a few things out with my chars.

well... i really don't know... I think it might have something to do with a flash video i saw years ago but other then that its random.... the other name i started using recently (tikitimebomb) is a play on words in some cases and i also "think" its a drink of some sort not sure...

Even though my name doesnt say it, i'm mostly known as "Tippo". It originated from my first email, which my sister set up for me. i was about 6 then. Tippo the Turtle Hippo. I've been using it for many years now.
Oh, you mean the superhero name? Obsecri is a greek word, i'm not entirely sure what it means, but i know its nothing BAAAD. I've only been using it for about a year, but i'm using it as a race, putting it in front of my characters names, like "Obsecri Protector" or "Obsecri Archer".

Gather up around and prepare yeeselves for a tale of intrigue, betrayal, lust, murder, war, and hope. Oh you wanted to hear how Ravenstein got her name? I know that story too.

How Ravenstein originated...the abridged story.

A friend was going to be running a superhero PnP game and I made Aveline von Ravenstein as my hero in that game. Her original supername was Midknight, hearkening to her using a sword and her chivalric outlook and heroic motivation. It also references that in her original origin story she was born with the powers of a dark god of destruction that was just aching to break loose and destroy a good portion of the world and the only thing keeping that in check was Aveline's extreme mental discipline and training that allowed to control the dark god as opposed to it controlling her.

That game lasted like four sessions. The group decided to instead play a giant mecha game. I quickly added magical girls and the game went from awesome to crazy awesome, but I digress.

Then my boyfriend got City of Heroes. He told me I would like the character creator and he was right. I also liked the gameplay by the way; it was a great improvement over WoW which I was playing at the time. My first hero I based on my poor, almost forgotten hero from the PnP game. Sadly, the name Midknight was already taken. So I decided to go with the name Ravenstein instead.

Things change, people break up, and I keep Heroes while he gets WoW. I still think I got the better end of the deal.

Also the name sounds rather cool in an old world, kinda dark way.

Jesad was formerly Esad, meaning "Eat Sh** and Die", but way back when, if you forgot your password your name was lost to the internet forever, I forgot my password :P So I added the J onto it, for reasons I will not disclose, and it sounded kinda holy so I kept it. I tell people that the J stands for "Just" in order to go along with the "eat sh** and die" phrase, but it really doesn't. :)

Well once, many moons ago [roughly 7 years ago] I was a freshamn in high school and bored one day in the library. I was taking various online quizzes and stumbled upon one called "Which Vampire Are You?" I took the test and it came out:

Chaoseth, the All-Seeing.

I happened to really like the name although as one of my friends pointed out I was pronouncing it wrong.

Me = [ Kay-Oh-Seth]
Actual = [ Chaos-Eth]

But I went with my pronunciation. I used it on forums, email, IM, the works and when I played my first true "online game" SOCOM: US Navy Seals, I used it on there. Joined a clan, years later part of the clan breaks off, one of the people really doesn't like me and threatens to take my name when the next sequel was released.

During this time I was taking a Japanese class at my school and early on figured out how to spell my name in the Kana they use for foreign words.

The Kana for Su and To are used for TH usually since there is not a TH in the Japanese language.

So the next SOCOM sequel rolls out and I used Keioseth instead of Chaoseth. This allowed me to have my name and also helped in the reduction of players miss pronouncing it [Most people called me "CowSeth"].

I keep the "All-Seeing" from the Vampire quiz as a theme, going along the lines of "The All-Seeing Eye of Horus" and went with Seth being from Set, the god of Chaos. Making Keioseth, the Angel of Chaos and his arch-nemesis Chaosiris [Osiris], Demon of Order/Afterlife.
