That is funny. I like the alternate title a lot better though.
And why the hell did Blizzard ban his entire guild? This just goes to reinforce my thoughts that Blizzard Customer Service is an oxymoron.

See, this is another reason why I hated WoW. GM gives a guy an overpowered. Guy uses said item. What do you do? Ban the guy and all his friends.
And Falcon, I also agree with your siggy.

Just to play Devil's Advocate, he should have known it was a mistake. Still, I agree his punishment should have been lighter than a ban. Maybe remove any item he got as a result of that bugged raid.

I was thinking along those lines too - but then I remembered that the item itself actually says that the on-use effect is cheating - presumably in case something like this ever happened. So even severe lack of common sense is really no excuse.

How many of his guildmates benefitted from this item? If they were on the raid with him they would have noticed the effects from it. How could you not. If you dont report it and willingly reap the benefits from it, you are just as guilty.

They should have just removed all gear, gold and achievements from all the chars in the guild. As there was no proof they were involved, even if the guild obviously knew about it.
Thing is, if you have ever played wow long enough, you are full aware of the power of blizzard. In there policy there is a statement somewhere stating that they can ban anyone they like without giving a full explanation. It isn't popular but they have done it.
For example first person to lvl to 80 got banned for mob tagging, although the player confirmed that it was fine to do it with a gm.
Just dont expect power over your account, in the end its not yours and you have to prepare for instances like this if you tread a foot in dodgy places.
