I have gotten my hands on the final release beta of this and i have a question, will this game be tested anytime soon on the stability of playing on this fabled perfect os. considering the release of the os is going to be August i would hope they test it, or at least a small amount to see if it works. Anyone know?

Well it runs in XP and 7 has better compatability with windows programs than Vista so logically it should run.

I have been using windows 7 beta since Jan. If the RC is as good as the beta, then you will love it.

Keep meaning to get round to installing it on something. Might do it tonight for that matter.

Ditto, never going back to vista... Win7 interface is the best Windows has ever had. Never gettin' rid of my new task bar!

You're missin' out :p

Yep, better performance, way better interface, UAC doesn't bug you about absoultely everything... there are a few things I wish it didn't bug me about, but I'll survive. I thought there would be compatibility issues, but if it runs on vista, it runs on Win7 beta. I'm not sure if I like it more than XP, but it's definitely better than Vista. Runs great on my gaming machine, been using it since beta release day, and haven't had the urge to dual boot it yet.

Right now I would avoid using it on a laptop , at least on my Asus F3JP it ran good on AC power, but when it was on battery it was really sluggish for just basic tasks. Either it was using Vista drivers, or it's not optimized very well on lower CPU power.

Pretty frustrating for those of us who shelled out money for Vista.

They never fixed all the bugs in Vista, and just turned their focus to developing Windows 7.

"Windows 7, which pundits have dubbed "Vista done right," is the next version of Microsoft's operating system for desktops, laptops, and netbooks. Slated for release late this year, it's similar in many respects to Vista, but with some rough edges smoothed over and some performance gains. According to reports from Windows 7 beta testers, it should be faster, require less processing power and memory, and have fewer application crashes than was the case with Vista.

If the past is any indication, Microsoft will offer a free Windows 7 upgrade to those who buy a Vista-equipped PC after an as-yet-unannounced date, probably somtime this summer." - Consumer Reports, June 2009

No worse than OSX when it started. They had annual, paid updates for a while. I don't think it was worthwhile until 10.2, and Apple drops support for things pretty quickly. Until I upgraded from 10.2.8 to 10.4.x at work earlier this year, I couldn't get the new versions of iTunes or Safari!

I use OSX and Windows, been running W7 since the public beta. I love it, and will get the public RC on Tuesday, and plan to *buy* it when it comes out. Which is amazing, since I always recommend to folks to wait for SP1 or SP2 first.
