with all this talk about swines and their sicknesses, i'd just like to see where the sensitivities of the champions-online community lie.

i'm not any kind of activist but, I have been vegetarian for a few years now and care deeply for animals.

if we are to discuss, let's be rational perhaps?

Regardless of the animal cruelty issue, that move by Egypt was just stupid!

NOTE: Swine flu is not being spread by pigs or contracted from eating pork!!!!

It is being spread from person to person; killing all your pigs just because it is called the "swine" flu is madness.

I agree, which is what astounded me in the first place.

I did find this article, though which is directly related to the Egypt case.

perhaps crises averted.

Stop clubbing baby seals. They're far too young for clubs.

What kind of inhuman monster could be cruel to him (http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb291/CountessRavenstein/Personal/bunny3.jpg)?

I will have you know that Ravenstein does not approve of animal cruelty unless it involves cats, insects, or celebrities being on the receiving end of the needless cruelty.

yeah, man. how can people decide to shove all sorts of chemicals in the eyes (animal testing0 of such a cute little bunny face?

haha, I dunno what cats or insects did to you, but I agree with the celebrity thing. I'd like to see the jonas brothers locked up in a cage so they can't move and their muscle atrophy and their meats get tender (veil).

I don't tolerate cruelty just for the sake of being cruel, especially toward cats and dogs.

But...

1. I love that there is animal testing. Better them than us.
2. I am an unapologetic, equal opportunity omnivore. I like veggies, sure, but I love meat, and I will eat any variety of meat you put in front of me, even if it's whale, dolphin, dog, cat, elephant, manatee... and I'm not sure I'd turn away a plate of "long pig." All's fair in the food chain. If it wasn't meant to be eaten, then it would be poisonous.

well, hey man, I understand what you're saying about eating what you eat. I mean, that's fair enough. I dunno about manatee, though. I mean come on man, they're endangered! haha.

but, at least, in response to your comment about animal testing, I don't believe it's necessary. I mean, in this stage of the game we've got all sorts of alternatives to having to test on animals.

check out this wikipedia page on alternatives to animal testing. it's rather educational.

Approves of cruelty to cats because

1. I am very allergic to cats; life threateningly allergic.
2. A cat killed my brother's rabbit.

Approves of cruelty to insects (and spiders) because they really freak me out.

Approves of cruelty to celebrities because they deserve it.

I really don't care about endangered. If a species is endangered, then it means it's doing something wrongly.

Yeah. It says we're not quite there on any alternatives, and might not really ever get there.
