According to Massively, May 4th marks the lift of the press NDA?

Now I don't want to speak for the devs, but if this is indeed true, then i'm sure we can expect to see loads and loads of new information. From official press sources at least...

I myself am STILL looking over some of the new juicy info that massively has posted. And I know it's still too early to tell, but with the NDA lifted for the press i'm going to ASSUME that an open beta/stress test isn't incredibly far off.

Still got about 2 and a half months untill release, and those things aren't usually until about a month or so before release, but hey, wishful thinking says anything could happen judging by what i keep hearing about the beta in it's current state.

In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled on sites like IGN and Massively among other sites for new information.

I was suprised that none of the other game sites like IGN, Gamespot, etc. had articles written today for Champions. I mean, there's huge appeal and Massively isn't the only site reporting on MMO news.I'm so excited for some gameplay vids for all the different power set and traveling powers.

I don't even think they'll have an open beta, none of the other cryptic games have ever had open betas.

Hey, Wishful thinking, hehe, doesn't exactly mean it will happen. Only that i wish it will.

As to Ape's comment, i'm kind of surprised too, but they're usually a bit more formal about their updates.. I'm not even sure that I know what that means, but i'm going to assume that they'll have some good stuff for us in due time. Massively looks like they just found some corrosponding screenies and wrote about what they experienced in beta. Something like that could have probably been done in a few hours.

But Hey, i don't know what's going on... This was all news to me when i checked a thread on the forums that linked me to massively.
So I don't even know how lifted - if at all - the Press NDA is... So only time will tell.

That's grossly incorrect, considering that I was in open beta for both City of Heroes and Villains.

In fact, I can proudly say that I was kicked OUT of open beta for City of Villains. Ask me why. :D

Why, DrSpaceman, were you kicked out of open beta for City of Villains?

Because a costume contest was being held for the WORST (best) VILLAIN EVAR.

After about 30 minutes of thinking, I came up with.........

/drumroll

OSAMABINLADENMAN. And he was frickin' AWESOME. Had the beard and everything. Mastermind, with mercenary pets named Al-Qaeda.

Many ROFL'S were had. And yes, I did win the costume contest and got a ridiculous amount of infamy. 500,000 to be exact.

And then I was banned 30 minutes later because some people complained. :p

Was it worth it? Most definitely. I wish I could find the pictures. Didn't get banned from the live game though. Just for the duration of open beta. :D

Heh, that was a pretty good idea. I can see some people getting upset, but then again some people get their panties in a wad over nothing (and yes I mean Perez Hilton...what a dufus).

Ever notice how it's usually the stupid people who complain? Who couldn't tell you what country Osama is from? And no it's not Afghanistan...that's just where he is hiding....

Totally, it was great. My wife brings it up pretty regularly, it just cracked her up. And seriously, all drama aside of it, I think I did a REALLY good job designing him. Turban was spot on, had the long salt and pepper beard, the works.
