Is it pointless to hope on getting into the beta at this point? I just applied and have no idea if it's closed or how they go about accepting...I just know I'm dying to play this game. Any insight would be sweet!

It depends on how lucky you are. Dev's have said that they do their best to get the applicants who have applied for the longest time span but that at the end of the day its out of their control and its luck of the draw who gets a key and who doesn't.
I would wish you luck but if you get a key then it means I might not
Just keep checking your inbox every 5 seconds like the rest of us do :D

Good Luck as mnay thread here loo kat this differantly.. IT is hard to say...
The ones in Beta can only say they are in not how they did get in.. So its fill out the Beta Application from main page and hope for the best.. More Closed Beta left to do..
The the Open Beta.. will be around the corner. until 14 Jul 09 CO launch day... :)

I wouldn't say it's pointless. theres still two and a half months til launch, which probably means (and i'm just guessing, this is in no way official) theres still a month and a half or longer til Open beta, if they do indeed have one. And THAT means theres still however long til open beta to get into the closed beta, so be optimistic, keep checking your inbox, and keep checking the site.
And don't be too discouraged if you don't get in, that just means when you finally do get to play, you get the shiny finished product with a lot less bugs and all the content to play with, rather than a test build.
Theres always light at the end of the tunnel, just have to know where to look

i doubt they are sending out invites at all anymore considering that they actually now started contests to get keys, don't count on it happening.

I signed up the day the application went up, I am still not in the beta but I am not losing hope.
Just be patient and it might pay off.

I remember seeing somewhere that activity within the community helps but then again you never know. I'm still hoping from signing the application about a month ago. Hoping to win the Name the park contest but I know my name isn't good enough. I'll be trying my best to be occupied since I can't work for medical reasons at the moment.

No that wasn't it at all. Nexus got in since he did so much for the community back in the early days is what I heard. That and post count means nothing. Do a search for all the people who posted crap like "I dowloaded the clitent and hw Is play:?!?" and the comments that followed about Wow great first post and Gee just signed up huh?
So plenty of people are getting in that just joined or never joined up, so it's possible that just signing up is a good thing.

Though you might be eager to play CO, playing in cb isn't always as exciting as it seems. Usually games are full of bugs and glitches at this point. The main reason for closed beta is for the devs to get some constructive feedback so that they can make the final release, or at least the open beta that much better. It's also the tester's job to report bugs and such, beta testing is as much of a privilege as it is a job.
Don't worry about getting into beta bro, the official release is gonna be soo much sweeter.

I been here over a year. Hopefully sometime they might let me in. I was on COH for about 3 years (started at launch) and looking forward to helping test and find some bugs in beta :(
