I fully expect this thread to be modsmacked immediately... but...
For those of you who have been living under a rock: CoH just launched the Architect in issue 14. The Architect allows you to create your own missions and enemies for others to play.
By the end of next month Issue 15 should be live: It brings back the 5th Column with two all new Task Forces so that players can kick the Reichsman's butt for the first time ever.
But now... Now thanks to a leak the Paragon Dev team were forced to launch a new web-page early. Take a look at Issue 16: Going Rogue

New expansion set with more zones, hints of power customization, side-switching for Heroes and Villains, and more.
Will this be enough to keep City in the running when CO and DCUO are launched?

I dunno. Even ED only cost City -about- 5,000 customers, once the massive CoV boost hit. And that was widely received as City's greatest Nerf. Maybe this will turn out similarly, throwing City back into the range of 200k subscribers?
At 120-140k they've got more than enough leeway to lose customers before server consolidation becomes even a speck on the horizon. (Speculation puts it at or near 60,000 subscribers)

well i know to a limited degree the eu servers took a hit from the current dev hate, as for the us no clue, but i'll say this, i'll wait and see on the outcome. coh/v was a good home to me, but champs online offers me what i wanted, sadly coh/v didn't, but if the new features are cool enough i might check them out.

Hmm interesting...this obviously isnt enough info to get me bacto CoX but if i get more and it seems cool then ill also prob check it out..

That's a rumour that's been circulating for years but still hasn't come to pass. It'll probably happen eventually but not soonish I think.
I'm tiring of the game (the shininess of CO hasn't helped :D ) but I'll certainly check it out. I don't think there'll be any power customization but there is the hint of Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning.

I've said it before, and for some reason beyond me I'll say it again... I'm done with CoX, I'm not interested in a clone copy version of other MMO's that's only real difference is spandex instead of armor.

Don't get me wrong, I am still getting Champions but I also planned to keep my CoH subscription and this may just clench it. Or break it, I don't know about paying full retail price for an expansion unless there are some very nice goodies in there (ie costumes, powersets, fun content), but I could pay 20-30 dollars for a nice expansion.

seems like 3 zones. 2 of them large. available to access by both smart peoiple, and the stuckup-underwear-wearers.

Going rogue needs more details imo, lots of misinformation going around atm.
So far new Zones and the ability to switch sides (with a few neutral zones) have been confirmed.
If they deliver everything they promise, it looks really good for CoX.
But i suspect the xpac will fall considerably short of their "Wish List" that they are throwing around.
As a current CoX subscriber, i sincerely hope they are not trying to get everyones hopes up, only to not deliver in the end.

Thats just it, alot of CoX "News" is just rumors or wishful thinking, i need to see official confirmation. Alot of "Facts" being spewed around, but nothing official to be found anywhere.

I am currently recieving 2 different sets of info regarding the xpac.
1.) Info directly from CoX (Paragon Studios) (New Zones, Side Switching)
2.) Info from fans (Xpac is gonna have everything everyone dreamed of)
Both news is contradicting itself big time right now. Which makes me come to the conculsion alot of wishful thinking is being passed around as Facts right now (Both on these forums and in the CoX forums).
I am a little peeved that a certain article from Massively site has misled me on what features are to be contained in the xpac. Its not Massively's fault, but people are using it as a promo tool, and it is extremely misleading :mad:

Most of those sound pretty nice. Can I exchange Obama for James Earl Jones though?
And the hype and buzz is why I am taking a wait and see approach before raving about the blessings of the newly announced expansion. Neat concept though.
had a quick look at the press release, still content light. but i will be keeping an eye on it.
