I believe that a hero is determined by actions, not by just naming himself a hero.

One thing I'd like to see is the ability to determine your "standing" with the city based on what you've done there.

For example:

If you're an underground type hero, you may not get the recognition that other heroes get. You may be labeled a vigilante. In that case, even when you're fighting evil and wrongdoing, you have to circumvent being captured by the police.

If you go around planning bank heists, robbing jewelry stores, or laying waste to buildings, the city will probably put out a warrent for your arrest or capture. This would be a great opportunity for other heroes to cash in, make their name known as a figure of justice.

If you put out fires, rescue cats from trees, help old ladies cross the street, you'll certainly be labled the city's "Boy Scout of Goodness".

In the meantime, we all know there is a "grey area", one that every super-powered figure faces. Sometimes he's like spiderman, where the Daily Bugle attempts to make him look like a criminal. Sometimes it's like the civil war, where all Super-heroes are forced to register with the government or face criminal consequences.

There are a multitude of situations: A hero might have to face another hero, just to stop him from doing something which would ultimately harm the city. I've read many comics where a good guy has to fight another good guy. Heck, I've seen situations where the BAD guy is currently the GOOD guy, and the GOOD guy is the VILLIAN.

All these things, to me, mean that when you join the game, you're neither a GOOD or BAD guy. You're a super-powered person, who has to make his or her way in the world. The choice is yours, so to speak!
