I jumped on my level 13 darkness alt and got 6k exp for a 6-7 min cage fight... THEN done a stronghold on my level 32 electricity char which took 25 mins, we won and I have well over 15 player kills and got 11k exp! How does that work?

Thowing my hat in the ring here.. Maybe I was just really unlucky or something, but the one round I did last night netted me 500xp and a paultry amount of acclaim. I almost cancelled right there. I'm level 33 and in a bad state as far as advancement. Apoc was a fun way to get some XP and PvP as well. Now, its crap. This xp was 99% lower that what I received the night before for a comperable match. This is rough. I am not a happy customer. The kill count seemed a little more fubar on players too. I did TONS of damage to every player that got near me, but came out of the match with very few kills. /sadpanda

The new Exp/acclaim from these matches is way too low. Aside from doing the unity missions and nemesis(which are becoming repetitive, doing the same missions over and over and over...) PvP was all I log on for.

Now I enjoy the PvE in this game just fine too but PvP is always the main draw for my friends and I in any MMO. Even with that being said I don't think PvP should be a big focus for a game like CO, however the current acclaim gain/rewards are completely unacceptable.

Not to threaten here but I must simply state a fact, with this patch you have managed to ruin the only thing my group of friends and I log on for. Personally I'll give you guys time to shape up your act and get the kinks out of your game (plus I paid for more than a 1 month sub so what choice do I have?) but the current state of PvP is going to lose you subscriptions. Both from PvEers who can't fill level gaps and PvPers who are now even bigger black sheep.

Edited since I feel I need to add, this is honestly the first time in my 13 years of playing MMOs that I have ever wanted to cancel my subscription in response to a patch. I still have some hope for this game, so I'm begging please give those of us who do love PvP a small reason to play.

Point is, who cares if the XP was a little disproportional? Everything else is broken, you guys had to fix the only path to mitigate the lack of content?

Couldn't you wait until enough quests were added to the point where people didn't need to do stronghold for XP because they just finished their level 34 quests and since they are still level 30 they can't get anymore?

What were you thinking?

Actually, at the moment the more kills you make the more it seems to count against you!

This is also the first time that I have considered dropping this game. The other patches I made it through fine. Apoc was a fun, rewarding break from the grind of trying to close the mid 30's gap. Now, its a complete waste of time.

Roper got my lifetime on Hellgate, but in CO, I can cancel any time. Please fix tihs up.

I hear a few legit complaints about XP/Acclaim:

1) Some kills give negative points/kill counts are lower than they should be
2) Rewards for PvP are lower than rewards for PvE play
3) Games take a long time, and rewards aren't any greater for long games
4) The dev team hates the players and wants them to suffer

#1 is purely a UI bug. When you seem to be getting few kills or negative kills, it's just a display bug. Doesn't affect your score for reward purposes. Fix is already in, and will probably make it in the next patch.

Let's solve #2 and #3 together, shall we? How about this: let's make games give bonus XP when they run longer. The best XP/hour earning will still be to win games quickly, but a bonus for long games will increase how much Acclaim you're getting overall (yay!) and also reward you for sticking out those long Stronghold matches (yay!). This will also increase Acclaim for Hero Games across the board, including UTC and BASH (yay!).

The downside is that I may have to up the price on some of the high-end PvP items to match the increased Acclaim. Hopefully we can pair this with an item overhaul, so the items will have better stats. They're supposed to be hard to get, but they're also supposed to be worth it. And naturally, there's a 1-2 week delay as changes run through QA.

#4 is absolutely true, by the way. We ran out of kittens in the office, so we're stuck abusing players by nerfing Champs. I figure we'll add perma-death next.*
