The funny thing is how people in this chain of posts have tried to make issues out of something that never existed, and compare this bugs that actual do affect game play. They are the poor lonely people looking for something to complain about.

I expected it to be fixed soon to, but ohh it was so much fun while it lasted.
Yes, a waste of time. but what part of this game isn’t a waste of time.
I made more friends goofing off with a giant then any other aspect of the game.

To bad it has to be lost. Now what will i do when I am bored and don’t want to repeat all the missions on an alt.? hmmm.. maybe I will get into STO someday soon.

Heh, I laughed.

I like the idea of having a giant party. Someone should create a thread in a more frequently read forum.

There was an untargetable bug. There were additional game effects on both PvP and PvE, which made certain aspects of the game exploitable. I figured out how and in what conditions it was possible to replicte these effects. I even determined how it was possible to shrink your character to normal size and leave the targetting problems in place reliably. I am not the most clever of people so I'm sure clever people had (or would) figure out more ways to exploit the bug.

I personally would liked to have seen a less drastic 'fix' in place, but some kind of fix was needed.

So, there's a bug. You even know how to produce it. You're just not able to produce any details of how or why it happened so that no one will be able to confirm or rebut your "findings".

Lovely.

I can post it after the fix is live if you like. The bug is still currently exploitable. I passed on the information to the people that need to know how to exploit it, the developers, to develop the appropriate fix.

Funny, I've never seen this exploit at all. And I am pretty familiar with the ways to prevent a target from attacking you. Placates and certain powers described as "stealth" allow for this. I can literally stand next to you and you cannot do anything to attack me.

I'm fairly convinced that this is what you are mistakenly seeing, and misattributing it to this item. It doesn't make you untargettable in any of the times I've used it or my friends in game have. In fact, it seems like something of a joke in PvP, as any hold will cancel it, and you're out 70 points in a primary defensive slot that you could have been using to improve stats.

I don't know about any 'untarggetable' bug any worse than what is already in game.

But I do know, when I was 50' tall with my monkey, I could chainsaw the entire map in snake gulch. I also agroed the entire map in snake gulch - but gees it was fun to see the numbers fly.

I really wish the left the growth in, and just took out the bugs

I hate it when they decide to make fun things like this vendor trash.

when we can do the growth effect without any of the bugs that the massive size caused, we'll add stuff that uses it for sure. But until we can do it without causing all sorts of awful graphical glitches, camera issues, exploits and client breakage, we're not going to have it. Regardless, a rare drop for fun off a lvl 9 quest mob is not where an effect that level 40s want to farm for will get hooked up, once we can safely do it, expect to see it on something more appropriate that doesn't mess up missions being done by low level players.

This makes me very pleased. Based on your other posts, I was worried that you'd just make the new giant size part of a quest or something. Good to hear it will probably be an item.

You would be wrong, the bug is real. It's simple enough, screws up your location so that you're outside the map, with all the usual implications - walls are one-way transparent, so you can shoot inwards while other players can't shoot out at you. Triggering the bug is tricky but not hard once you know how. Coincidentally, the broken growth also screws up critter AI, camera positioning, and causes performance issues for other players, although those aren't exploitable.
