Open Beta Instructions

Come join the battle against the forces of evil by registering at FilePlanet. Beginning on August 14th, 50,000 Open Beta keys will be distributed to users on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can claim your keys on the FilePlanet Champions Online page.

All pre-orders of Champions Online also include access to the Open Beta. If you've received a key from the retailer, here's how to get set up for Open Beta:

First, attach it to your Cryptic account, in order to activate your account for Open Beta.

Next, you'll need to enter the same key on FilePlanet's site.

Beginning August 5th, download the client from FilePlanet.

You're ready! Come back on August 17th and jump into the Champions Universe!

If you haven't received a key from your retailer, you'll need to get in touch with them directly in order to obtain your key. Cryptic's support team is unable to provide you with any Open Beta keys.

That said, if you are having trouble activating your account with a key you physically have, contact our support team, and they'll be happy to help you.

Unlikely, it's the same client connecting to the same beta server for the same game. It's just being hosted at FP.

Do people who hace pre-ordered from Direct2Drive have to download FP client or will the one D2D provide be just as good?

I pre ordered through wal mart and did not recive any code... and the shipping date is welll past sept 1.. where they suppose to send me a code via email ???

As of August 17th, August 5th, or some arbitrary date in between? I don't think anyone from play.com or amazon has them yet, at least.

I pre-ordered from Bestbuy.com and haven't received my pre-order email yet, and i'm a bit concerned because I've seen a Best Buy rep on their boards indicate that the email keys already went out.

I got mine from bestbuy.com last friday. So I'd imagine that you should get yours anytime now.
