Default Bloodmoon Feedback from a Casual Player

So as I've said before, some days I have a few hours to play and others I can only log in for short periods of time. As of the server going down I have managed to finally experience as much as of the event content as I really wanted to, on one character.

In Memoriam
- Once the timers were reduced to a half hour, it made this much, much better. However, some people are still experiencing the bugs where even after downing the hero, they don't get offered the mission. Luckily there is a loophole by teaming up with people and sharing the middions. Except, there's also another bug where some people are not getting the perk for defeating the hero in the OM (which you cannot receive inside the crypt obviously). I know, bugs are a fact of life but still, this is a big problem especially for casual players who do not have loads of time to suffer through the bugs.

Inside the Crypts it gets very boring, very fast whether teaming or solo. Once I got the 1000 zombie kills, I had no reason to endure the monotony, I just ran through everything to the final door. Not that I LIKE grinding, but if there were further perks for this, it would at least have been *some* incentive to do the crypts properly. There is also not enough variety in the layout, I did all 13 crypts twice (two characters) and I only ever experienced two layouts. It didn't take me very long to zip through by heart knowing which turns were dead ends etc.

Even the summon loot stopped being fun to get and I would just ignore the chests altogether. I actually really did like the skull of the necromancer and the bone whistle drops, I love summon items, they're fun! The zombie bone though is incredibly lame and not even worth having for S's and G's. Yeah, it has a graphic that does minimal damage but you can look like your tossing body parts like the npc zombies do. But it's soooooo slow. I don't care if it did no damage at all if I could use it more often. The npcs are pitching bones at me like they're part batting machine and here I am going dee dee dee, oh a bone, *whack*, 12 bones later I'm like, oh here have a bone. (an exaggeration but really, using this item makes you look like a special olympics zombie.) So yes, something needs to be done with your event lairs. There just isn't enough to keep people interested in doing them properly for all 13 heroes.

About the only Crypt i really like is the one where the undead hero comes charging at you from across the room. If you had let us tag them to fight them (even if there was almost no loot {see below}) it would have been more fun to do these.

Zombie Foxbat Drop - My words may sound contradictory but I truly do not mind having this be rare. And I did see the devs response to other complaints about this but I'm still going to give my feedback. I don't mind the insanely limited drop rate on it but if you intended this to be fun, it didn't happen. (No I don't have mine yet, if ever). The spawn rate on Takofanes servant is well, like the crypts but in a different way. It gets boring pretty fast zone hopping etc. IMO, keep the drop rate as P.I.T.A as it is if you must but open up more places it can drop. By this I mean, imagine if you manage to tag the undead hero in one of their crypts, and they also had a miniscule chance to drop the figure. Or if you beefed up the Strength, Wrath and Will of Takofanes mobs (or there was a small chance to run into a beefed up version) and *they* had a small chance to drop it too. It would make the Crypt grind more interesting as well.

Werewolves VS. Hunters - I'm a pretty adamant anti pvp person. I HATE it. The only time I go in is for a quest or the occasional need to remind myself why I hate it. I avoid open world pvp like the plague. That being said, this whole thing was a LOT of FUN. Seriously, though I know hardcore PvPers were sometimes QQing in zone chat about it not being "pvp" I actually found it a lot of fun.
However.
You NEED to make all summons and buffs etc depsawn when someone changes over. Though it's not that big of a sore point for me because of how this whole thing is set up, it can get pretty ridiculous when a pet class with item summons spams them all before switching. I want to fight the werewolves or the hunters, not the contraptions i can go fight any other time if I want to.
You also need to make it so when you switch, your hunter or werewolf is a certain level. Again, not a huge sore point for me because even my low 30s could take on the 40s with a bit of strategy. It's just that since the mechanic already exists, why not have everyone that switches bumped up to 40 to make things a little more balanced?
I'm not an experienced PvPer but overall, this aspect was quite enjoyable. Even when the side I'm on is outnumbered, the fact that there's no penalty for being killed makes it a lot more fun than I thought was possible. I did experience cheesy gank tactics as well as satisfying semi honorable mass battles but overall this was a good experience for me. To those who complained about people of the other faction camping your start area, the solution was always simple. Just don't change over right there. I would say that the Devs did a better job with this than they have with other aspects.

Zombie Aopcalypse - I actually like this. I honestly do. It felt so much less like a pvp map to me and even my non uber build was able to *almost* hold out to be the last one standing. I will probably do this one more often. =)

TL;DR :
Some of its fun, some isn't It's pretty bad imo though when the anti pvp person enjoys the pvp content more than the pve stuff.

I was completely underwhelmed by the event myself. My supergroup has quit playing and has charged me with checking in every 2 - 4 weeks to see if the game has been finished (the pain and joy of falling to the "bait and switch" that was open beta and lifetime accounts).

Event Feedback:

Unless I'm missing something, the dead heros spawned only at lvl 26. This made the event too difficult for all but 1 of my characters and way to easy for my main. Additionally, of the 3 crypts that I entered, they were identical except for the dead hero. Very boring. Since this was a bust, I moved on to look for the next thing to do. Zombie Apocolypse, hey that sounds fun... wait it's PvP = pass. Werewolf hunters vs werewolves, let's check it out... wait it's PvP = pass. At this point, I could not find anything else worth my time to do, so I've logged out and made my report to my guild.

I really, really, really think Champions has potential (despite the hostility of the fan base on these forums) and will keep checking back monthly as long as the game lasts (I really hope it lasts, but it is following the path of Asheron's Call 2 more and more). Good luck to all of you sticking it out.

For the most part, I've enjoyed the event. However, there are some glaring issues that should have been addressed:

13 Crypts: After the first few, all we did was rush to the end. It was a good idea in theory, but too tedious in practice. The 30 minute spawn time made the actual above-ground part bearable.

Hunters vs. Werewolves: TOO MUCH FUN! I only just started doing this today, partially due to some of the issues that have been stated in the past. The pets thing needs to be sorted, because having werewolves being chased by munitions bots and healbots is just dumb. Once you change, everything should be de-spawned. Other than that, great fun, although a level 40 on one side can ruin everyone's day if the other side is level-appropriate for the region (snake gulch; mid-20s, for example.) Perhaps a level-equalizer when you change as well? To make things more fair?

Tacofanes spawning every 6 hours and getting ganked in about 2 minutes. Hate it. If you're not already in a shard that he's going to spawn into, good luck getting this perk these days, with all of the camping going on.

I agree about the crypts. The first couple were fun but when it became clear that 1) they were long, and 2) they were all the same, we just SK'd up to the highest level member of the group, flew to the last room and cleared it ASAP. The event runs nearly three weeks so I can understand why they want to make the related content lengthy but all they really accomplished was making it lengthy and repetitive. They would have been better off with fewer crypts that were more challenging. There's no fun or reward in unlocking rewards like the Celestial powerset when you have to go through this sort of content to get to it.

Crypts could have been more unique depending on the hero for sure.
Takophanes spawn make it somethig you do once and that's it.
the pvp ware hell of fun. I feared werewolved/hunter perks would take forever, but actually with the number of plyers doing it you could do each in less than an hour. Great fun. (Werevolves were more fun and interesting to play that hunter imo. )
Zombie apocalypse is definitely a great pvevp area. target bug makes it quite annoying when playing zombie, though.

Overall it is a pleasant event for me.

Well since I'm not the only one dissatisfied with the Crypts hopefully they'll take a look at this, even if only for future events.

As a casual player I agree with most of the OP. I am a little frustrated with tacoface. I can only log on for an hour or two a day and have yet to see taco spawn. I understand that is for more dedicated players but man logging on and sitting MC hoping for Taco to spawn and not doing anything else other than monitor Taco channel is not all that fun.

I do love this game don't get me wrong. But I got better things to do with my time in game other than waiting for the Great pumpkin to show up

I never PVP. I don't like it. But by jove, zombie apocalypse was excellent. I hope they have something similar permanently in the game.

Zombie Apocalypse is fun for PvP since it's not just against players, but a horde of never-ending undead mobs too.

The Tako hunt for a zombat just to have it rolled back in server crash was not fun...

Otherwise I liked all the cool undead hero drops. I have two of them now.
